A unique client-side job opportunity in the Data Centre sector of construction for a M&E Project Manager / M&E Programme Manager to work remote based with EU travel. To be considered as a remote worker you must be home based in either the UK, Netherlands, or Germany.

The M&E Project Manager / Programme Manager role is a management and delivery focused role with the primary responsibility of overseeing the effective implementation of EMEA wide critical infrastructure upgrade or replacement projects. This responsibility will include but is not limited to the overseeing of key planning, management, execution, and change control aspects associated with multiple projects and programmes of work on several sites including the internal and external coordination of project activities with suppliers and consultants.

Main Duties:

  • Accountable for the successful delivery of special projects across EMEA including the handover into operations.
  • Collaborate with the Design, Engineering and Commercial Teams to identify, plan and manage project execution requirements. The Special Projects Programme Manager will create, manage, and report on short- and long-term funding needs.
  • Work with the Operations and Scheduling teams to identify and plan utility, infrastructure and upgrade requirements coordinating interfaces within live and existing systems to minimise business interruption whilst delivery to critical path special project objectives.
  • Identify short and medium-term vendor requirements to meet the objectives of the critical special programme managing closely business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Design, Construction and Legal teams to identify and report on planning for and compliance with regulatory approvals, including Building and Environmental permitting associated with the implementation of the special projects programme.
  • Ensure that specific special client projects are tracked and deployed meeting key milestones and business commitments.
  • Identify service, equipment and contractor requirements on our special projects, driving pre-positioning and procurement efforts to mitigate supply chain risks across the programme.
  • Provide timely, accurate and consistent reporting of all special projects across the prescribed projects / programmes including contractual obligations.
  • Clearly outline, define, and execute design and construction methodologies from inception to handover, continuously seeking and implementing opportunities to learn and improve our end-to-end delivery.
  • Align with sales, operations, engineering and commercial teams to continuously assess and implement value add opportunities for our existing and prospective Clients associated with special defined projects.
  • Be accountable within the DCD team for driving and inputting into the standardized delivery of special projects including engagement with all relevant stakeholders (internal and external)

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Must have experience working in live environments mission critical, preferably in Data Centre construction.
  • Ideally Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Construction Project Management, Engineering, or related field, Relevant professional certifications.
  • Extensive experience in the delivery and management of construction projects with knowledge of the end-to-end process required to take a project from inception through to handover.
  • Demonstrate proven mission critical, preferably Data Centre, construction experience.
  • Knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety and related regulations associated with construction project delivery.
  • A motivated team member with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, key initiatives, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to work with peers in a cross-functional and collaborative working environment that can influence from the initial project stages through design and into implementation to deliver on key projects and programmes.
  • Ability to dynamically manage problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills both in planning and delivery stages of a project / programme.
  • Have experience in operating at a management level and ability to present to senior leadership both internally and without external stakeholder forums.
  • Have experience in remotely supporting and delivering successful outputs from consultant and project teams.
